FREE WILL AND KARMA

(A channeling with  Solomon)        

       Hello Solomon!  Would you please share some insight on free will and how it relates to karma?

            And hello to you, our beloved.  We have shared with you in silence for some time and it is (to use a human term) a great pleasure to share in this media from time to time.  You have been working quite diligently on attuning yourself and it will show in your part of the Great Work.  As you know, in order to share what we are, we must work through you, using your experiences and those things in the physical that you have.  So, the more “pure” you become, the clearer the messages will be for the world in general.

            It is not possible to speak truth in words alone.  It is in the intent and energy produced by the words that truths are reflected.  Truth can only be perceived in the physical by reflection.

            Thank you for the reminder!  This is one of the principles that I have spent a lot of time with in my meditation classes.

            Free will is not a principle that began at birth. It existed in truth since before the beginning as you understand it.  It is because of free will that the physical universe was conceived and created.  In fact, the process of creation is an on-going principle and will exist long after this illusion you call the earth plane has fulfilled its destiny.

            Many philosophers have said that human beings are victims of circumstance (karma).  Although this is a very common perception among most people, there could be little else that would be further from the truth.  The truth is that you create all circumstances by the use of free will.  Then, perhaps fall victim to them. 

            May we give you an illustration that may clarify many questions about the principle of free will and karma?  Be aware that through illustrations like the one you are about to hear, they could bring even more questions than they may satisfy.

            Yes of course, this is the best way one can progress and learn.

            In the world of Spirit, before you were born in the physical, you lived in groups of like minded people.  These people had very similar experiences in their past and have understandings and other perceptions in common. The love was all but pure and compassion seemed to be a cardinal rule.  You were learning and sharing experiences that came from the depths of your souls.  In fact, those groups could be considered as “Soul Groups” or communities because of the abundance of love and compassion manifested there.        

Counselors and guides tend to be far more accessible in the spirit world than in the physical plane.  This is true simply because the veil of forgetfulness is non-existent.  It would be foolish to think that those residents in soul groups would be left on their own.  Guidance is always available whether in spirit or in the physical.  The laws are the same and the love is the same.  It is the individual that varies in experience; belief and trust makes it seem difficult to connect with the best guidance.

            As you contemplate this principle you will, no doubt, realize that the principle of karma exists in spirit as well as in the physical body.  While in spirit, a person enjoys far more understanding of that principle and is able to use it as a tool in setting up the circumstances and environments while in the body.

            As you and others were contemplating these and other principles, you began to yearn to experience certain concepts and lessons in a physical body.  There were probably feelings of unfinished business that you weren’t able to reconcile. (These perceptions may or may not have been accurate, but they were your perceptions.)  There were also some fears you felt the need to face in the physical body.  It is also true that there was perceived a great need to receive and express your understanding of love and all of its ramifications.  It is better said that you felt the need to express your understanding of the reflections of love.  This is a subject better addressed at a later time.

            Thank you Solomon, I’ll be putting that subject on my agenda for future meetings.

            There was a great deal of discussion and consulting with those who had a broader perspective on the things you wanted to experience and accomplish.  Many of these friends would become your partners in spirit (guides, teachers and angels).  These particular friends and counselors volunteered to be with you for the entire length of your journey in the body.  They have a direct line to the essence of your soul.  You no doubt feel their love, support and warning from time to time.

            I certainly do!  I depend on them with all I do and experience when I’m in tune with the best within me.

            This is a wise thing on your part.  Of course, you have the ability and right to access your own higher mind on your own and you also have the support of those guides and teachers to help get you to that point.  Stay on track!  Use the principle of instant forgiveness as much with yourself as you do with your fellow beings and you will be glad to discover an even clearer relationship with your “higher mind.”

            Now, shall we get back to the original question that you asked?

            Yes of course!

            When you were certain about the experiences you felt the need to have when you embodied, those who loved you and volunteered to be in the physical with you to play out your drama, temporarily merged with you.  This is possible when not encumbered with a physical body.  (There are times when you no doubt feel this when you feel a profound emotional and/or mental oneness with a loved one.)  The principle is the same in spirit except it is a literal thing.

            When merged, you and your loved ones created a unique phenomenon.  It was a vibration, very similar to a sound.  (That vibration could stay in the universe un-changed forever.)  Once that sound or vibration was created, the other entities separated again and resumed their rolls with themselves and others in that “soul group.”  There was also, no doubt, a great deal of excitement in your own soul group about the drama that was soon to unfold for you.

            At the instant of conception, that vibration together  with all the hopes, fears and dreams were permanently etched in your DNA.  You could call that your karmic matrix for want of a better phrase.  At the time your DNA was being affected, a veil of forgetfulness was drawn so you would have no conscious memory of the specific things you discussed and experienced before your embodiment.  The record is still there in your body.  Your spirit also has relatively few fragments of your purpose as well, but only fragments.  The veil is still intact.

            Does this mean that my spirit permanently inhabited my body from the moment of conception?

            It does not.  Your body was not yet able to be an appropriate host for you at that time.  However, you remained very close and witnessed your body’s progress from a single cell until it was ready for birth.  You inhabited your body as soon as it could sustain your energy.  Or, in other words, when the energy of your body was fully compatible with the energy of your spirit, then you were able to be a permanent resident.  That time varies depending on the circumstances and experiences you chose before conception took place.

            Does this mean that our lives are all planned out before we are born?  If this is so, what about free will.

            Only the major aspects of your life’s pattern (karma) are planned in advance.  Even then, free will is the primary principle of being in a physical dimension.  How you work out your purpose is still a matter of free will.

            Is it possible for one to be consciously aware of his/her life’s purpose in this life?

            Yes it is!  You are, even now, living out your life’s purpose.  When you question yourself about this, simply look back on your life and you will see your intended purpose is already unfolding.  This may or may not be comfortable, but that is the reality of it.

            You also have the free will to deviate from your path.  Those tangents may be easier and/or more fun, but your peace of mind and genuine knowing will be diminished and there will ultimately be a yearning to get back on your main path.

How will I know whether or not I’m on my true path or what my ego needs for its self gratification?

            You can know by getting to know your ego and how it operates.  As you have been taught, your ego is your mind and its attached emotions.  It is only through intuition and attunement with your higher self and/or divine help that you can discern the difference.  We will say, however, that there is a sense of peace when you are on your given path that ego can not duplicate.  A little practice with meditation and pondering will help you with this concept.

            You can also know by objectively observing the various situations, dramas, and circumstances in your life. Then, ask for the lesson to be revealed to you and it will come.  The purity of your intent and the depth of your attunement will determine the speed in which that revelation will surface. 

            All experiences in your life reflect your attunement with the purposes you intended to fulfill while in your physical body.  This can take time and effort, but the rewards are outstanding.  As you gain more understanding of yourself and your place in the universe, you will become progressively more open to the wisdom that is always available.

            You are NOT without help!  Remember that you have friends and associates in and out of the physical that are willing and eager to be with you and help you in your journey.  Ask for help and you will receive it.  Also, be aware that it is your responsibility to ask with purpose and respect, and then be ready and willing to receive the guidance in a way you can understand and accept.

            The process is not entirely automatic and it sometimes takes time and effort, but we promise you that it is well worth the experience.  Once you discover the best process in whatever area your focus might be, then it is essential to trust it (the process) and stay out of the way of its function.

            Karma is your creation.  Like free will, your karmic patterns, for the most part, started long before you were embodied in the physical.  It is only through the principle of free will that karma can exist. And it is through understanding and wisdom that karma is dissolved. It is an illusion to think that karma came about in any other way.  Of course, the perception usually is that karma is a law that you have no control over.  This is because you are not looking with an eternal perspective.

            The root of karma is emotion; there is not an example of it where emotions are not involved in some fashion.  Often these emotions are very pleasant and positive.  When this is the case, the karma is also pleasant and positive.  On the other hand, when the emotions are painful and seemingly negative, you will, very likely, create a painful and seemingly “negative” circumstance in which to play out that particular drama.  Always be mindful that even emotions are not limited to this life alone.  They go with you upon leaving your physical existence.  They are present when planning your next experience whether a future embodiment or in the next day or two in your current life.

            Time is a relative thing and the principles that guide it are as valid for a millennium or simply one fraction of a minute of clock time.  It makes no difference in eternity.  Your time in this illusion you call the earth plane is but only a fleeting instant in consciousness.

            We hope we have been able to be clear in sharing these concepts to your understanding.  We are also aware that there have been as many questions generated as there have been answers given.  Make a record of these questions and we will share more insight as it becomes appropriate.

            Thank you so much!  My head is spinning with all this information.  You are right, there are many questions that have been stimulated through this conversation and I will be addressing them at the right time.
